Reading rooms
Code of Conduct
- Coats, backpacks, (laptop) bags must be left in the cloakroom or the lockers in the Textbooks Reading Room.
- on-alcoholic drinks closable bottles can be taken into the reading rooms.
- No food is allowed.
- Consider other readers and behave in a way that does not disturb them. If you have to talk, please do so quietly.
- Mobile phones must be put on silent mode.
- The Library cannot be held responsible for the loss of unattended valuables.
Main reading room
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 8 am to 8 pm
It is the oldest reading room with over 200 seats.
Economics and Social Sciences Reading Room
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00 am to 7:30 pm
Lists of specialist literature items and periodicals available in the 80-seat reading room.
Arrangement: in thematic groups, within the groups the documents are arranged in increasing stock numbers.
Available services:
- local use and circulation of documents stored in this reading room,
- use of 4 computers (LibreOffice).
Technology and Natural Sciences Reading Room
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 8 am to 8 pm
Lists of specialist literature items and periodicals available in the 20-seat reading room.
Arrangement:
- in thematic groups, within the groups the documents are arranged in increasing stock numbers.
- literary fiction: in alphabetical order by author,
- travel guides: in alphabetical order by title.
Available services:
- local use and circulation of documents stored in this reading room,
- use of 1 computer (catalogues)
Textbooks Reading Room
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 9 am to 8 pm
The 45-seat reading room includes dictionaries and university textbooks.
Arrangement: in groups by BME faculties and within the groups in alphabetic order by title. Fields of common interest taught at several faculties (mathematics, physics, IT) are in separate thematic groups.
Available services:
- local use and circulation of items stored in this reading room,
- use of 2 computers (LibreOffice),
- general information on the stock of the reading room and the library services,
- anti-theft lock hire.
Community areas
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 8 am to 8 pm
Ground floor, room 2
20-seat community room available for reservation. Directions: via the ground floor Research Room 1.
Instructions for reservation:
- the room can be reserved for minimum 30 minutes and maximum 2 hours,
- reservations can be made maximum 1 week in advance,
- reservations will be cancelled if you are late by more than 20 minutes.
Ground floor Research Room 1
Our ground floor Research Room 1 is equipped with computers and can be used freely. Our colleague can assist with the use of equipment.
Services:
- use of 8 computers (catalogue, LibreOffice),
- use of the databases,
- use of the e-periodicals and e-books,
- printing,
- use of 1 A/4 and 1 A/3 scanner.
Community room (K building, mezzanine floor 51)
Opening hours: 9 am to 8 pm
The room has a capacity of 26 seats. Reference materials on chemistry, located on open shelves, can only be used in the room.
